Travel&Talk in Malta
14. 8. 2024
Thanks to the Travel&Talk program, which supports the participation of teachers from secondary schools established by the Moravian-Silesian Region (MSK) in methodological and language courses abroad, I was able to spend fourteen days in July in Malta.
During the first week, in the TREES course (Teaching Resources for Environmental Education on Sustainability), I learned a lot about the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and I must say that this topic deeply resonated with me.
For the second week, I chose the course Public Speaking, Communication, and Presentation Skills. Since public speaking and presentations are not among my favorite activities, this was a conscious step out of my comfort zone. However, it turned out that my concerns were unnecessary. The 30 hours spent in a very small group of teachers were a pleasant and valuable time during which I learned a lot.
Of course, I wasn't just at school. Every afternoon, I had the opportunity to travel around the island and explore its history, culture, and natural beauty. The only downside was the sometimes overwhelming heat, but fortunately, the refreshing sea was always close by.
I would like to thank the MSK for their significant financial support and Mgr. Blanka Kozáková from KVIC Nový Jičín for administering the project.
