Natural Sciences

Who are we?

The natural sciences are developing at an incredible pace today and are increasingly influencing everyone's life. Biology, physics and chemistry are being combined with philosophy, sociology, statistics or psychology, and the resulting mix of disciplines is opening up new perspectives on many topics that seemed obvious or unexplored before. At our school, you can also peek around the corner of classical education and experience unexpected surprises. You will touch real laboratory processes and, under the guidance of experienced teachers, you will also visit some of the specialist institutes in the area (for example, FNsP Ostrava or VŠB-TU). Although we only have two lessons per week, in the last two years (fourth and sixth years) you can choose a biology seminar or practical exercises in physics and chemistry. If you enjoy subjects where we strictly adhere to scientifically validated information, you are one of us.

What do we do?

In addition to our traditional classroom and laboratory teaching, we try to get out of the school from time to time. For students, we arrange professional lectures and thematic excursions, such as visits to the Ostrava Museum, the Nuclear Medicine Department of the Ostrava-Poruba University Hospital or the geological pavilion of the collection of rocks and minerals at the University of Science and Technology Ostrava. Those interested in biology can join the activities of the Natural Science Club.
