My Unforgettable Week in Brussels
11. 8. 2024
The second week of July became one of the most intense and inspiring periods of my teaching career so far. Thanks to the Erasmus+ program, I had the opportunity to participate in the course “Enhancing Creativity and Innovation in my Classroom” in the Future Classroom Lab in Brussels. Thirty hours filled with new knowledge, hands-on demonstrations, and inspiring meetings with twenty-five colleagues from across Europe truly thrilled me.
The course opened the door for me to the world of modern technologies and their use in teaching. I discovered how artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, 3D printing, and other innovative tools can be used to enliven our lessons and motivate students to learn actively. I was also very interested in the idea of inquiry-based learning and gamification, which can contribute to the development of critical thinking and creativity in our students.
Exploring Brussels was also a strong experience. In addition to a walk during which we completed assigned tasks, we had the opportunity to visit the European Parliament and the Parlamentarium visitor centre. These places provided us with a unique insight into the functioning of European institutions.
Throughout the course, we exchanged experiences and ideas with the other participants. I sincerely hope we will continue to do so after the summer.
I returned from the course full of energy and new ideas. I am looking forward to transferring this knowledge into my teaching and inspiring my students as well.
